The God Who Sees Me Will Reveal Me

“And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me… Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi.”
—Genesis16:13–14 (KJV)
Wilderness Encounters
When we enter a wilderness season, we can follow Hagar’s example and dig a well in the middle of our circumstances.
Hagar called the Lord El Roi—The God Who Sees Me. She named the well Beer-lahai-roi, meaning “the well of the Living One who sees me.” It marked the place where she encountered God and received the assurance that she had not been forgotten.
Hagar said, “Have I also here looked after Him that seeth me?” In her loneliest and most uncertain moment, she discovered that God saw her pain, heard her cry, and knew exactly where she was.
Not only does God see us, but He also allows us to see Him more clearly. During different seasons of our lives, He reveals different aspects of His character. In the wilderness, we discover that He is our Provider, Protector, Comforter, Deliverer, and Friend.
Most importantly, God always sees us. He sees where we are, what we are facing, and what we need. He is all-seeing, all-powerful, and always present.
God promises in His Word that He will never leave us nor forsake us. We are reminded of this truth in Hebrews 13:5, Joshua 1:5, and Deuteronomy 31:6–8.
Our God lives, and He reveals Himself mightily to those who feel unseen, invisible, mistreated, or brokenhearted. Our Heavenly Father cares for us even in our lowest moments.
A Declaration of Faith
I declare that because God sees me, He will cause me to be seen by the right people, at the right time, and for the right purpose.
I declare that divine recognition, divine alignment, and divine opportunities are coming into my life.
I will not have to beg for what God has ordained for me. What He has prepared for me will locate me, and what He has spoken over my life will come to pass.
The God who sees me is the God who will reveal me.
A Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being El Roi—the God who sees me. When I feel forgotten, overlooked, or alone, remind me that Your eyes are always upon me. Help me trust Your timing and believe that what You have ordained for my life will come to pass. Reveal Your presence to me in every wilderness season, and lead me into the purpose You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Shalom and love,
Deloris Hardaway
Bless the Lord, O my soul.
